About this challenge

Every great teacher has a story. This month, create a comic strip about your favourite teacher. Turn them into a character, recreate a memorable classroom moment, or imagine an entirely new adventure starring them. A few panels, some speech bubbles, and your imagination are all you need.

Comics sneak in real skills: sequencing, dialogue, pacing and visual storytelling, all while giving you a fun way to celebrate your teacher who means something to you. It's the most fun students will have "writing" all year.

Stick figures and speech bubbles are perfect — the story is the star.

Your mission, step by step

Create your character
Who are they? What do they want? What's in their way? Give your hero (or villain) a spark of personality.

Plot the beats
Beginning, twist and ending — sketch the story on paper first so the panels flow.

Draw your panels
Make a strip of 4–8 panels. Stick figures and speech bubbles are perfect.

Scan & submit
Photograph or scan your comic and submit it before the 30th.
