In-School Boot Camp · Problem Solving

Real problems.
Real impact.

Students learn the design thinking process by working on authentic challenge briefs from NGOs and social impact organisations. Through research, empathy, ideation, and prototyping, they develop solutions for problems that exist beyond the classroom.

The Journey

What your child
actually does.

Every project begins with learning to think like a designer and ends with a solution worth sharing.

1
Think Like a Designer
Students build the foundations of human-centred design through fun, hands-on activities that develop observation, empathy, creativity, and problem-solving.
2
Explore the Challenge
Students receive a real challenge brief from an NGO or community partner and discover why the problem matters.
3
Understand the People
Through research, empathy activities, and user insights, students uncover the needs of the people they're designing for.
4
Create & Improve
Students brainstorm ideas, build prototypes, gather feedback, and refine their solutions through iteration.
5
Present for Impact
Students showcase their final solutions, demonstrating how their ideas could make a meaningful difference.
For Parents

How this helps
your child.

Learn to solve real problems
Students develop a structured approach to understanding challenges, generating ideas, and creating practical solutions.
Think with empathy
By designing for real people and communities, students learn to understand different perspectives before proposing solutions.
Build creative confidence
Students realise their ideas can make a difference when applied to authentic challenges beyond the classroom.
Develop critical thinking
They learn to question assumptions, analyse information, and make thoughtful decisions backed by research.
Collaborate with purpose
Working in teams helps students communicate effectively, navigate different viewpoints, and build stronger solutions together.
Present ideas with confidence
Students learn to communicate their thinking through presentations, prototypes, and final solution pitches.
Outcomes

They leave
with this.

  • Master the 5-stage design thinking process
  • Conduct empathy interviews with real users
  • Define problem statements and HMW questions
  • Prototype and test real solutions
  • Present solutions at final showcase

The world doesn't just need better ideas — it needs people who understand before they solve. We designed Social Impact to help students explore real community challenges and discover that meaningful change begins with empathy.
