Terms & Conditions.

1. Acceptance of these terms
Welcome to Maekido. These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Maekido website and your participation in our programs, boot camps, workshops, and Open Challenges (together, our "Services"). By registering for a program, making a payment, or using this website, you — and, where the participant is a minor, their parent or legal guardian — agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not register for or use our Services.
2. Who we are
Maekido is an experiential learning platform based in Hyderabad, India, that helps young people learn by making — through in-school boot camps, after-school clubs, monthly Open Challenges, and the annual NEXT festival. In these Terms, "Maekido", "we", "us", and "our" refer to Maekido and its team.
3. Programs, boot camps & challenges
We offer several kinds of Services:
- In-school boot camps — deep, hands-on programs delivered live at partner schools by trained Maekido facilitators.
- Open Challenges — monthly themed creative challenges (August–January) that students register for and complete from home.
- NEXT festival — our annual celebration of young makers.
Program content, schedules, themes, and facilitators may change. We will make reasonable efforts to communicate material changes in advance. Draft challenge themes and dates published on this website are indicative and may be revised.
4. Registration & eligibility
Most of our Services are designed for school-age students. Where a participant is under 18, a parent or legal guardian must complete registration and provide consent on the participant's behalf. You agree that all information you provide at registration is accurate and current.
5. Fees, payments & refunds
Certain Services carry a fee — for example, Open Challenges are priced at ₹199 per challenge. Fees are shown at the point of registration and are payable in Indian Rupees through our listed payment methods.
- A registration is confirmed only once payment is successfully received.
- Fees are generally non-refundable once a challenge has opened or a program has begun, except where required by law or expressly stated at registration.
- If Maekido cancels a paid program or challenge before it begins, you will be offered a refund or a credit toward a future program.
Please note: online payments are processed by third-party payment providers. Maekido does not store your full card or banking details. Your use of a payment provider is also subject to that provider's own terms.
6. Participant conduct & safety
We want every Maekido space — physical or online — to be safe, respectful, and encouraging. Participants (and, where relevant, their guardians) agree to behave respectfully toward facilitators, staff, and other participants. We may remove any participant from a Service, without refund, for behaviour that is unsafe, disruptive, or harmful to others.
7. Student work & intellectual property
Students own the creative work they make. The projects, artwork, designs, and prototypes a student produces in a Maekido program belong to that student.
By participating, you grant Maekido a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce, and share student work for educational, promotional, and archival purposes (for example, in showcases, on our website, and on our social channels), with appropriate credit where practical. You may ask us to remove a specific piece of student work from our public channels at any time by contacting us.
All Maekido curriculum, materials, branding, mascots, and website content remain the property of Maekido and may not be copied or reused without our written permission.
8. Photos, video & media consent
We often photograph and film programs to document learning and celebrate students. Consent for a participant to appear in such media is collected at registration (or by the partner school) and can be withdrawn in writing at any time for future use.
9. School partnerships
Where Maekido delivers programs through a partner school, additional terms may be agreed directly with that school. Scheduling, materials, safeguarding arrangements, and delivery are coordinated with the school so that teaching staff carry no additional load.
10. Liability
We take reasonable care in designing and delivering our Services. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Maekido is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of our Services, and our total liability in connection with any Service is limited to the fees you paid for that Service. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when they were last revised. Continued use of our Services after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
